Frequently Asked Questions
NEWBORN
When should I schedule newborn photos?
The best time to schedule a newborn session is within the first 5-14 days after birth. During this time, babies are typically sleepier and more likely to curl into those adorable poses.
How long do newborn sessions last?
Newborn sessions usually last between 2-3 hours. This allows plenty of time for feeding, soothing, and posing the baby without feeling rushed.
What should I bring to my session?
Bring any essentials for your baby, such as diapers, wipes, bottles if you’re bottle-feeding, and a pacifier (if your baby uses one). You can also bring any special outfits or props you’d like to incorporate into the photos.
What should my baby wear?
Many newborn photos are taken with minimal clothing to capture their delicate features, but you can bring simple onesies or outfits if you prefer. We also have wraps, blankets, and props available for the session.
When will I receive the photos?
After the session, I typically provide a preview gallery within a week. The final edited images will be ready within 2-3 weeks after you’ve selected your favorites.
Can siblings and parents be included in the photos?
Absolutely! I encourage parents and siblings to be part of the session. These moments create beautiful family memories. We usually do family shots at the beginning of the session to keep the focus on the baby. Please note this will be available pending on the package you chose
What happens if my baby is fussy or needs a break?
It’s completely normal for babies to need breaks for feeding, changing, or calming down. I always allow extra time in the session for these moments, so there’s no need to worry.
How should I prepare my baby for the session?
Try to keep your baby awake for a little while before the session and plan to feed them just before the session starts. A full and sleepy baby is more likely to stay calm and settled during the photos. A week prior to your newborn session, I will send out a prep guide for you to follow as closely as possible.
Do you provide props or should I bring my own?
I have a variety of props, blankets, and accessories available, but if you have something special, such as a family heirloom or personalized item, feel free to bring it along!
